Bose, 6 August 2009
In the luminous and solemn night of the Transfiguration of the Lord, our brothers Emiliano Biadene, Luigi d’Ayala Valva, Gianmatteo Malavolti, and our sister Elisabetta Galli, at the end of their formation in the novitiate and period of probation, which lasted eight years, have made their definitive monastic profession, presenting their life to the Lord as Christian monastics, at the service of Christ in the Church and among men.
Before the beginning of the celebration messages were read from pope Benedict XVI, patriarch Bartholomeos of Constantinople, and from our bishop, Gabriele Mana, who came for the celebration of the first vespers.
At the vigil liturgy, at which bishop Giuseppe Guerrini of Saluzzo presided, monks and nuns from other communities participated, among them the sisters of Cumiana, abbot Luigi Gioia of the monastery of Seregno, two brothers from Pra’d Mill, two brothers of Dumenza, a brother from the abbey of Casamari, as well as numerous friends and guests.
In one passage of his homily our prior Enzo Bianchi reminded the newly professed and the entire community of the conditions for living fraternally, as a Christian community: believing in the love that can be found in common life, displacing oneself from the center in common life, making room for the other in common life, bending over the other.
The community thanks the Lord for this great gift and also thanks all those who have accompanied us and continue to accompany us with remembrance in their friendship and their prayer.
