From Thursday 4 to Saturday 6 June 2009 the VII International Liturgical Conference will be held at the Monastery of Bose (Magnano BI). The opening session will be jointly chaired by Enzo BIANCHI, Prior of Bose, and Msg Stefano RUSSO, Director of National Office for the Church's Cultural Heritage of the IBC.
Several high Church representatives will attend the Conference. Among them, the Archbishop Piero MARINI, President of the Pontifical Commitee for the International Eucharistic Meetings, Msg Gabriele MANA, Bishop of Biella, Mgr Giovanni GIUDICI, Bishop of Pavia, and Mgr Arrigo MIGLIO, Bishop of Ivrea and Secretary of the Piedmont Bishops' Conference; the Archimandrite Job GETCHA of Paris, official delegate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople; Rev. Participants belonging to the Catholic, Orthodox, Lutheran, Anglican, and Reformed Churches give the Conference an ecumenical dimension.
Participants come from Italy, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brasil, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Kenya, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Spain, United States and Hungary. Monastics from Italy and from abroad will also participate in the Conference: this witnesses to the attention of the monastic world to liturgical themes.
Now at its seventh edition, the International Liturgical Conference held every year at Bose is a meeting of scholars and experts coming from different countries and belonging to different Christian Churches. Its aim is to offer to the participants (theologians, liturgists, architects, artists, people interested in the subject, etc.) a common space of reflection about the relationship between liturgy and architecture, and a chance of studying in depth value, meaning, and symbolism of the Christian liturgical space.
The Scientific Commitee responsible for the organization of the International Liturgical Conferences of Bose is made up of Enzo Bianchi (Bose), Stefano Russo (Roma), Goffredo Boselli (Bose), Frédéric Debuyst (Louvain-la-Neuve), Paul De Clerck (Bruxelles), Albert Gerhards (Bonn), Angelo Lameri (Roma), Keith Pecklers (Roma), Giancarlo Santi (Milano).
