In collaboration with the Orthodox Churches
XVII International Ecumenical Conference
on Orthodox Spirituality
Bose, Wednesday 9 - Saturday 12 September 2009
IN THE ORTHODOX TRADITION
The image of spiritual struggle reflects at best the need for the Christian of a daily conversion. The monastic tradition has always affirmed that the life of faith takes the form of a neverlasting struggle against temptations. It is therefore a inner struggle against evil thoughts, suggestions and powers.
Started in 1993, the Conferences on orthodox spirituality have been and will continue to be essentially an occasion offered to Eastern and Western Christians for listening to each other, deepening the mutual communion and knowing the spiritual treasures of other Christian traditions.
